Last updated: May 6, 2026
Overview
Rhiz Conference 2027 is a council-led event scheduled for July 7, 2027. Participation is granted through tier membership and governed by the processes below.
Conference Structure
The conference operates across three layers:
- Anchor location with limited in-person capacity
- Regional gatherings organized by members
- Digital participation layer
All eligible members receive access to at least one layer.
Council Governance
777-tier members form the conference council. Each member holds one vote. The council selects the anchor city from a pre-vetted slate and participates in agenda direction and key decisions.
Custom-tier Role
Custom-tier members can propose and lead tracks, host gatherings, and invite additional participants. Custom-tier roles do not override council decisions and do not remove access from eligible members.
Seat Allocation
Anchor seats are limited and allocated through council-defined processes, including participation and contribution. Regional and digital participation remain available to all eligible members.
Fallback and Deadlock
If the council does not reach a decision on location by March 9, 2027, the anchor event defaults to Austin, Texas.
Material Changes
If the conference structure changes significantly, Rhiz will provide an alternative experience across regional or digital formats.
Force Majeure
If circumstances prevent the anchor event from taking place, Rhiz will shift to distributed regional and digital formats.
Remedies
If a comparable experience cannot be delivered, members may receive a defined remedy tied to the conference portion of their tier, including credit or transfer options.
