How to save money on your move
Prepare the job before the crew arrives: clear scope, packed boxes, access and truck arrangements help keep moving costs predictable.
Send one complete inventory.
List the furniture, approximate box count, pickup and drop-off locations and anything heavy or fragile. Include photos and dimensions of the largest items. Mention stairs, elevators and extra stops before the quote.
Pack before moving day.
Use manageable boxes, label each room and separate essentials. Clear safe paths and protect loose parts. Agree in advance which furniture needs disassembly; keep hardware together and label it.
Arrange access and the truck.
Confirm parking and loading access at both addresses. Check building rules and elevator availability. Decide who provides the truck and whether its capacity fits the inventory. Share restrictions before scheduling.
Use the right crew.
A larger crew can help with bulky items and difficult access. Dom sizes the team to the work and includes required labor in the quote. Compare the full job cost rather than assuming fewer workers will cost less.
Keep the quote current.
Standard labor is $75 per hour, $280 for four hours or $550 for eight hours. Truck costs, crew labor, travel and added work depend on the job. Tell Dom when the inventory or access changes so he can revise the written quote.
