Practical project guide
Greenhouse choices and uses
Match the structure and interior setup to seedlings, food and herbs, season extension and the people using the space.
Start with the growing goal.
Tell Dom whether the space is for seedlings, herbs, food production, a home garden, farm work or a community project. The growing goal helps define the footprint, benches, beds, paths, irrigation and access.
Compare kits, tunnels and domes.
Kits come with manufacturer-specific assembly instructions. Polytunnels and high tunnels are complete growing structures with a project-specific frame, covering and base. Dome work starts from selected plans; Dom intends to use plans from Trillium Domes and reviews each proposed build before accepting it.
Review the site before the build.
Share photos, dimensions, site access and what is known about the ground, water and base. Confirm the selected structure’s specifications and any required local review before ordering. Dom scopes the preparation, frame, covering and growing-space improvements in the written quote.
Plan the space inside.
Seed-starting benches, irrigation, raised beds, trellises and clear working paths can be included by agreement. Discuss how plants will be maintained and who needs access before fixing the layout.
